- we are seeking here to collect ideas that make mobile telephony more accessible to those who have a problem reading the screen
- either it is because it is too small, they are blind, are illiterate, or have their eyes otherwise occupied, e.g. while driving.
The beauty of the new generation of mobile phones is that anyone can write software for them: there is also some degree of standardization
It may be that software to do the things below already exists, and we just don't know about it. In that case, inform us. There still might be a case for developing open source equivalents, to reduce cost to the user..

Ideas:
- A simple screen reader, that reads out the text on the screen each time it changes. Yes, text to speech takes up lots of memory, but menus have limited vocabulary, so you could have a whole bunch of audio files, such as file.mp3, and the software could easily look for the appropriate file name for each word it has to speak, spelling out any word for which it doesn't have the corresponding audio file
- Games such as tic-tac-toe, in which you can hear a description of the board, so the user can select the next move without looking at the screen.
